CALL FOR EXPERTS - INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE COUNCIL / UNITED NATIONS GLOBAL SCIENCE-POLICY WORK

As the ISC’s work and impact in the multilateral system continues to grow, we will constitute an ISC roster of experts over the coming weeks on issues that are prominent on the UN agenda to be able to provide timely inputs that draw on a wide range of expertise across regions. Your organization’s participation is critical to help the ISC deliver on the global stage as we convene international expertise on priority topics of the 2024 multilateral agenda including through the Group of Friends on Science for Action, the President of the UN General Assembly, the UN Secretariat and the UN Science and Technology Major Group.

The ISC secretariat has identified 20 priority topics on which the ISC will be called upon to provide authoritative inputs in 2024 (including foresight, science diplomacy, global digital cooperation, peace and security and more), which will be critical for the success of events such as the Summit of the Future, the High-Level Political Forum, and the International Conference on Small Island Developing States. Please see the full list of topics and the sign up form here.

🔗 We encourage those who are able and willing to contribute their expertise to science-policy activities on one or more of the 20 topics to add their names to the roster of experts by completing this online form by 29 February.

CIE VOLUNTEER SURVEY

The CIE relies on the dedication of volunteers to advance its work across various aspects of the science of light and lighting, as well as in the development of standards. We highly value the contributions of our volunteers and aim to ensure their experience with us is rewarding. Rather than assuming what motivates individuals to engage with the CIE and what would enhance their involvement, the CIE leadership is actively seeking feedback through a survey.

This survey aims to understand what attracts volunteers to the CIE, what supports them in their work, and how we can further assist them. We encourage participation from anyone currently involved with the CIE, those who have been involved in the past, or those considering joining our community. In short, we want to hear from anyone in the broad CIE family. Your input is invaluable to us!

For any inquiries regarding the survey, please reach out to the CIE President, Jennifer Veitch, at president@cie.co.at.

🔗 The survey is anonymous and short. Please access it through this link.
